Dr. Lioudmila Sitnikova Designated as an Axonics Therapy Center of Excellence
Minnesota Urology is pleased to announce that Dr. Lioudmila Sitnikova has been designated as an Axonics Therapy Center of Excellence. Axonics Therapy is a long-term therapy option for people suffering from overactive bladder (OAB), bladder retention, and fecal incontinence. This designation is given to highly trained and experienced physicians who are committed to patient education and providing exemplary care to achieve optimal clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Axonics therapy is a treatment known as sacral neuromodulation. It targets problems like OAB and bladder retention at the nerve level. A small device, implanted in the lower back, sends gentle electrical signals to a group of nerves located near the base of your spine. These are known as the sacral nerves. These nerves help regulate how your bladder functions, including when to empty your bladder.
If you’ve struggled with symptoms of OAB or bladder retention, our expert physicians can help. Schedule an appointment today!
