Offering Pluvicto® – Expanding Access to Advanced Prostate Cancer Care

Minnesota Urology is now offering Pluvicto® (lutetium Lu 177 vipivotide tetraxetan) for eligible patients with advanced prostate cancer. Even more importantly, we are able to provide this treatment on our mobile PSMA unit, helping bring specialized prostate cancer care closer to the patients who need it.

For patients who qualify, receiving Pluvicto® on a mobile unit can mean less travel and greater convenience throughout treatment.

What is Pluvicto®?

Pluvicto® is a targeted radioligand therapy for certain patients with advanced prostate cancer. It targets prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), a protein commonly found on prostate cancer cells.

The treatment is designed to find PSMA-positive cancer cells and deliver radiation directly to them.

Who May Be Eligible for Pluvicto®?

Pluvicto® may be an option for certain patients with PSMA-positive advanced prostate cancer. Eligibility depends on several factors, including a patient’s diagnosis, previous treatments, imaging results, and overall health.

PSMA PET imaging can help your care team determine whether your cancer is PSMA-positive and whether Pluvicto® may be an appropriate treatment option for you.

Because every patient’s situation is different, your care team will work with you to determine the next steps based on your individual needs.

Bringing Treatment Closer to Patients

One of the things that makes this new offering unique is our ability to provide Pluvicto® through our mobile PSMA unit.

Instead of requiring patients to travel to a larger treatment center, the mobile unit allows us to bring this specialized treatment closer to the communities we serve.

For patients and their families, that can mean less travel, fewer logistical challenges, and greater convenience during treatment.

What Can Patients Expect?

Pluvicto® is given through an intravenous (IV) infusion. Patients receive a series of treatments based on their individual treatment plan and the recommendations of their care team.

Before treatment, your care team will review what you can expect and provide instructions for before and after your appointment, including any necessary radiation safety precautions.

Your care team will also monitor you throughout the course of treatment and answer any questions you may have along the way.

Our Commitment to Patient Care

At Minnesota Urology, we believe innovation matters most when it makes a difference for patients.

Offering Pluvicto® on our mobile unit is another way we’re working to make advanced prostate cancer care more accessible and convenient while providing our patients with more treatment options close to home.
