Biography
Dr. Lee Baumgarten is a board-certified urologist practicing at Minnesota Urology’s Coon Rapids, Fridley, and Plymouth locations. He completed his medical education at the Temple University School of Medicine in Pennsylvania. He was then accepted for a Urologic Surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. His training included a focus on robotic approaches for prostate and kidney surgery. Dr. Baumgarten was awarded Resident Teaching Award for his excellent mentorship and guidance to medical students and co-residents at Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Baumgarten’s research includes projects on prostate cancer, kidney stone care, and bladder dysfunction. He has published several articles and presented his work at Regional and National Conferences of the American Urologic Association.
After completing his residency, he and his family moved to the Twin Cities where he began his practice with Minnesota Urology. Dr. Baumgarten is passionate about providing individualized care, partnering with patients to create a medical or surgical plan that suits their goals and wishes. Dr. Baumgarten’s clinical interests include all areas of general urology, especially the management of kidney stones, benign and malignant care of the prostate and kidney, and voiding dysfunction.
When Dr. Baumgarten is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. They love to explore new trails and parks in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.
