Dr. Ehlert Performs First eCoin Implant Procedure in Minnesota
In November 2022, Dr. Michael Ehlert performed the very first eCoin implant procedure in Minnesota. As the state’s only urologist trained to do this procedure, he is making an impact on patients living with overactive bladder (OAB). The procedure was performed at North Memorial Ambulatory Surgery Center in Maple Grove.
eCoin is a unique neuromodulation treatment for OAB. It’s the only FDA-approved tibial nerve stimulator device available. The small, dome-shaped device is implanted under the skin on the ankle near the tibial nerve. When the tibial nerve is stimulated with electricity, it helps stop the bladder from spasming and causing urge incontinence.
Congratulations to Dr. Ehlert for continuing to increase the level of care provided by Minnesota Urology by adding cutting-edge services for patients.
